Description
This charming little prayer-rug was made in western Afghanistan during the last quarter of the 19th century by Timuri tribes. The field design incorporates a ‘tree-of-life’ rising from the underworld through the earthly world and into the realms of the spirit. The rug is in very good condition with original brocaded skirts and all vegetable colours.
