    This is a “Frontier” Ziegler, a term we use to describe what is commonly known as ” Choibi ” carpets. These are made in North East Afghanistan, using Afghan wool. Designs and colours are inspired by original antique Zieglers, which were made in the Hamadan district . You can still find Persian reproductions of the Ziegler style but the majority of what is available in the market place today are what we call Frontier Zieglers / Choibi quality.
